Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history
You guessed it! We went as the Flintstones for Trunk or Treat. :)
We had an absolute blast preparing for this one. We actually had in our heads what we wanted to do, and then in true Valarie-Melinda/Melinda-Valarie form we started working on it last Saturday. Nothing like last minute pressure to pull something off. Melinda worked her fingers to the bone making costumes. She was actually making hers at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Logan, Sydney, and I made the house and the boulders. Melinda also made that cute little Flintstones sign.
Melinda also painted the address on the house after we got there. See her pearls? I made those. :)
Fred
Wilma
Pebbles
Barney
Betty
Bam Bam
We really love doing this every year. Any excuse to dress up and be goofy and we are there. We already have an idea of what we might be next year. :)
We had so much candy it was not even funny.
This is a picture of all our empty bags..
This is a picture of the candy we had left when they told us to start going easy on the candy.
That whole corner up there was completely covered with bags and bags of candy when we began. We ended up not running out, but it got pretty close.
Here we are with some of our friends.
Betty, Wilma, and JuJu
Fred, Barney, Betty, Lorie, and Wilma
Bill, Hillary, and Betty
They were much shorter in person than I imagined them to be.
(this is really my nephews dressed up!)
Look Jessie even came by to see us.
Each year they have a competition to see who has the best "Trunk". Now we don't do this for the recognition, we just do this for the fun. Even though last year we got beat by toddlers, but that's ok we are not bitter or anything. Nope not at all.
But this year we WON!!!!!!!!!
We had our picture taken and it and the trophy will be displayed in the Church until next Trunk or Treat.
Again we love doing this every year, but we would like some more competition. Right now our closest competition is her.
We always wonder what Mr. and Mrs. Bickerson and their Sunday School Class are going to do. Last year they went as Gilligan's Island. See they even had a boat!
This year was really cute though, they had a duck blind and went as Ducks and Duck Hunters.
They were all dressed up in their hunting gear and some of them was dressed like a ducks. They were so cute!
(Sorry Dana I swiped your picture from your blog)
Look "Sarah" even has her gun out! Thank goodness there was not a moose there. :)
So next year people its on! Bring out your Big Guns and decorate those "trunks"! After all we do not do this to win, we do it for the children. :)

When I'm there for Christmas - what's the likelihood I'll get to meet Barney? I really want my picture made with him! )
I had the inside scoop and I STILL was surprised at how cute this turned out. ADORABLE!
Did you find the toddlers and say "How you like me now, munchkins!"
I hope that you are having a great weekend.
