Update

Dear Bloggy Friends

I would like to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for Mama.  She came out of the second surgery just fine.  They have her in SICU as a precaution.   The doctor wants a nurse to constantly observe her for about 24 hours.  Depending on how she does, she will be able to go to a room then.  As of the 8:30p.m. visit, she was doing fine, just very very groggy.  This of course is to be expected right now.   God has everything under control.  He is so good.  :)

Love to you all

Pray

Dear  Friends of Blogland,

Yesterday my mother had some reconstructive surgery done.  This was due to the double mastectomy that she had previously.  That surgery went fine, but with one little hiccup.  The circulation at the site of the mastectomy was not what they wanted it to be so they stopped that surgery to wait about three weeks for the circulation to get better so they could continue.  With all that said she was doing fine last night.  I received a call this morning that she was bleeding from the site of the drainage tubes.  They have rushed her back into surgery and she might even need blood.  Please pray for my Mother and the surgeon and the nurses who will be working on her.  I know God is in control and has her in His hands.

I will update as soon as I can.

Love to you all

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Carrie, just Booed me. :) No I did not do something she did not like, its a game. :)

happy_halloween

Now, this is how the Blogging Boo will work. Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "Boo-ed". Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to "Boo" their friends. Then, put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you've already been "Boo-ed" and to send the pic to someone else. So, are you scared yet!!?? BOO!!

Ok one more time......

1. Take picture, put on sidebar

2. Tell people they have been booed

3. Link back to who booed you

Ok now if I booed you, go forth and BOOOOOOOOOO people.

I would just BOO everyone, but then that would take to many people out of the game. If you want to be Booed and do not get Booed then consider yourself Booed. :)

Can somebody bring me some soap?

Because after they cleaned up, both Lisa and I probably are running low.

sydmud2

Saturday after waiting for a long, long, long time, poor little Sydney finally got to go muddin with her friends.  Not that she couldn't have gone before, but she always had something going on when they would go.

sydjj

A couple of weeks ago they even called her at about 9:30 at night and wanted to know if she could go riding.  Now I would have let her, because these are friends she has known forever.  As a matter of fact her and (lets just call him J.R.) J.R. have known each other their whole lives.

mud2

He would be one of the few people I would trust going riding at 9:30 at night.  Guess what though?  He was just pulling her leg to see what she would say.  Poor thing she got all ready to go and they were just playing.  I knew something had to be up, because I knew his Mama wasn't going to let him go riding at night.  That's why I called to see what was up.  :)

Back to Saturday, let me just say the word filthy does not describe what they were.

They had mud in their ears......

It was everywhere....

I am thinking we are gonna need a lot of Tide to get the mud out of those clothes.

After Syd finally got all the mud off of her, she said her skin felt really soft and smooth.  I wonder why?

FILLER :)

While I am working on another post, I thought I would give you a little crafty filler, that I borrowed from JOY.  :)

I had purchased some loose leaves from the dollar tree to decorate my topiary with. Well I did not use near as many as I bought, so now I have like 2 1/2 bags of leaves.

leaves

I figured I would just put them back for next year, until I saw this post over at Joys of Home.  Oh my gosh, I can so totally do this.  So I went out and got me some Styrofoam balls.

Once I got them, I painted them just in case any of the Styrofoam were to show thru.

leaves4

Then I started hotglueing leaves all over those suckers.

DSC_0254

Once I covered every little bit with my leaves, I had this....

What? You don't see a finished product?  That's because I forgot to take a picture before I put them in the bowl.

Here is a picture of the two leaf balls I made and then added to a bowl.

DSC_0256

You like my little bowl?  I got it at a yardsale for 50 cents.

The acorns and little pine cones, I got at TJ Maxx.

leaves3

Its not my favorite display, too much brown going on.  The leaf balls are also sorta hidden in all that stuff in the bowl.  Not sure where I am going to put them yet.

Jennifer, do you recognize the tree?  I purchased that at thrift store when Jennifer and I met and went thrifting and antiquing.  I just added a bow.  :)

A DIFFERENT TYPE OF PUMPKIN DECOR

I believe it was Logan's 1st grade year, when we had to decorate a pumpkin for his class.  It had to be a character of some sort, so this is what we came up with.....

If you are needing any ideas on pumpkin projects for school, or just want to make a cute little pumpkin,  Chicken Little was very easy to make.

Fro' Me to You - Oh Kristen,

I believe I might have you beat on some fro pictures.

Its Christmas time and apparently I have asked Santa Clause for every popular gift and fashion of the times. There is so much going on in this picture, well I can't even explain it. Take a look for yourselves.

Y'all know that I like y'all and awful lot for letting you laugh at me like this right?

This is bad, real bad.......

val1

Here it is analyzed...

val2

(apparently I can not spell either. Its supposed to be tongue out. It was late I was tired give me a break. I mean I looked like THAT! Thank You Lisa for telling me, only a sister would.)

Now some of you may notice that I have on a Vandy (University of Vanderbilt) jersey on. I thought this friend of my sister's was really cute and he was playing for Vandy. I do not remember his name. Lisa do you or Kristi know who I am talking about? Yes Kristi I know you are reading this. Kristi is Lisa's best friend and a lurker on my blog. :) I doubt my Daddy was to happy about the jersey, seeing as he is a huge Tennessee fan, but I insisted.

I am concentrating on playing Pac-Man and trying not to get killed by those little ghosties.

Yep, y'all need to be jealous, cause you know I had it goin on.

Oh and one more thing, for those of you still wondering what was in the driveway from a previous post. It was not a stegosaurus, it was the hay bale in the middle of the drive way. If you got it right here is your cookie.

Comfort Zone

If you have read this blog very much, you know that I have a problem with the smell and clothes at the Thrift Store.  Well this weekend was "ServeNow" at our church.  This is our first year to do this.  We find places in the community to have the youth serve in some capacity or another.  Guess where I got to go help out at?

The Rescue Mission Bargain Center

God was working on me here.  A place in my life that I am uncomfortable in, he places me in.  Now I am all for what they do there and the people that it helps, but the smell and the cooties.  It just gets me some times.

These were my tools of choice for the day.

Latex gloves and sanitizer

Lets take a look at some of the cootie filled departments that we helped with.

STORE3

(I don't know about you, but buying drawers from the thrift store is WRONG!)

store2

Now these girls got a big kick out of my cootie phobia.  They would bring random pieces of underwear to me and ask if they should purchase them.  Then, they did bring home a HUGE, like taller than me, Green Stuffed Monkey.  Oh the cooties that thing probably has.

Y'all want to know something.  God has a HUGE sense of humor.  Yep at one point HE was laughing hysterically at me.  We were helping to sort through new stuff that had just arrived and I picked up a bucket and asked "Where does this go?"  The guy helping us said "oh we throw those away that's a bucket from an adult potty chair."  Oh I get the creeps just writing that.

Melinda found something I think she might want at the Bargain Center.  It was an old player piano.  She tried getting it to work, be we never got it too.

piano2 piano

piano3

We had everybody in that store trying to get it to work, but when you don't know anything about player piano's, its a little difficult to get them to work.

After we helped at the Bargain Center, we went and did yard work at some peoples houses around the neighborhood.

Again God was probably laughing at me, because I got to use one of these for the first time.

LEAF2 LEAF

I cleaned every thing from the driveway to the dog bowl with that leaf blower.  It was a blast! (get it a blast, blasting the leaf? Oh never mind)

When we went to the next house Melinda used the leaf blower.

Yes the girls started the leaf blower.  :)

When the day was over everyone was tired

SYDJESSMARY

We went and got cleaned up and then came back to the church for supper.

SYDMARY

We had a wonderful time all day.  Working for God, serving others, Worshiping with friends. Yep it was a great day.

The fun did not stop there either, six of the girls came to stay at my house that night.  Before we go home though we pile into the cars and go to the ScareMare!  Whew that is another post altogether.  Imagine chainsaws, and screaming teenage girls!  It was great!
