Fro Me to you - Twins!!

Well not exactly....

Do you have a sister that is close in age to you???  If so did your Mother do this to you???

scan

I can remember ever so clearly getting these beautiful dresses.   (I am sure that Mama and  Robin have a totally different memory, but mine seems pretty clear in my head so this is what I am going with.)

It was Easter and we were at our local FREDS.  I remember this FREDS had a basement and I think that is where the house wears were kept.  This particular dress had little fuzzy velvet like flowers on the the top part.  I believe I had picked this dress out and I could have picked from yellow, pink, or blue.  I am a yellow type of girl, so that is what I got.  Now Robin could have gotten the other color, but noooo she had to be just like me.  I guess I can look at that as a compliment.   Question for Mama, for some reason I am thinking there was some other type of drama about this whole thing.  I am thinking I threw a fit in the store, because Robin had picked the same dress.

My hair is a totally different story in itself.  You might think that I am trying to be like Dorthy Hamil.  I remember Mama threatening me that if I did not stop chewing on my hair that she was going to cut it off.  Guess who won.

For more walks down memory lane, head on over to Kristens.

Awww! Aren't ya'll just precious? My sisters are not anywhere near close in age to me. I was a teenager when they were born. I like to think I'd like to dress alike, but, eh, the idea is probably much better than the reality.

Haha. You guys are sweet little ladies in those dresses. I think you look cute with your Dorthy hairdo.
I have a brother close to my age and my mom did goofy stuff with us but thankfully for his sake she never dressed us alike.

Moms can be so cruel.

Oh gosh...my mother not only made the dresses for my sis and I, but she also made shirts to match for my brothers! And to top it all off, all our names start with "D"...Debbie, Danny, Donna, and Dennis. Sick, sick woman!

OH WOW! I am almost speechless here and trying to contain my laughter as to not wake the entire household.

And you've seen my twin photos.

My girls are only 17 mths apart and I am already guilty of the matching dress issue...they are young though, so I don't think they resent me yet!

See? I always wanted a sister to dress like. Not sure I'd want THOSE dresses, though. ;-)

You? Throw a fit? Say it isn't so..... You probably wouldn't wear those pretty little white gloves that Robin had on either.

Isn't that remnants of the Donnie Osmond do?

On another note, one time I found an open package of "boston baked beans" in the basement of Freds. (you know. the candy from Brachs. It was red. and bumpy) It was on a shelf, 1/2 spilled out. I snuck and got a few of them. Afterwards, I just knew someone had poisened them and put them there for me. I waited to get sick but never did. They tasted so good! Thats probably what I was doing while you were throwing a fit about the dress. Mama's attention was diverted.

LOL! Lisa

Sweet Picture! My girls are twins-and since they were big enough to protest-they've never dressed alike. I think it's cute though!

So ya think maybe I should quit dressing my grandsons alike? I have 2 sisters and that brings back memories. Blessings Memaw Barbie

Awww! Aren't we sweet, I wanted to be just like my big sis! lol I never really minded mama dressing us alike, I guess that comes with being the big sis. But I don't remember going to Fred's to buy it. The only thing I remember about that Fred's is that is where I got my Kindergarten mat for nap time! It was red on one side and blue on the other.

I wanted the Dorothy Hamil haircut but my mom wouldn't let me- I should have sucked the mess out of it, huh? I always wanted a twin. Nothing but a mean ol brother.

Lisa reminded me of stealing Reeces cups at Roses, kind of like Freds. But I didn't find them there. I took the package to the panties and hid it and as we shopped I would go off on my own and get one. I hate remembering those bad me stories!

My sister and I are 18 months apart. And, yes, I feel your pain.

I think that we have one where my mom and 2 sisters and I were all dressed alike.. I am not close in age so it didn't happen often.
You look so cute in your 'not' Dorothy Hamil Cut!

1st time commentor.... Just had to say that I didn't have a sister, but my Best friend in Elementary school has a sister who was 3 yrs younger than us. They were dressed identical EVERY single day for school. Just like twins. It was a little scary for me. Thank God it ended when we older girls went on to middle school.

Lovin' the bobby hair thingy. I remember having a teal monogram v-neck sweater and my sister had a purple one. I thought I was rich because I had my initials on something. I wore it just about every other day. And guess what, monograms are back. Maybe I should dig out my sweater and remember the days.

Your hair is hilarious. And those dresses adorable

My little sister and I are 2 1/2 years apart and my mom did dress us alike occasionally. It's fun to see those pictures.

My boys are 5 years apart, and I never dress them alike.

VAl, I think this absolutely qualifies as abuse and that we should maybe call in DHR and see if they take "cold cases". ;)
