How are you not sick?

My son, how he can eat all these and not get sick.

craft061

No they are not grapes. They are muscadines. A cousin to the grape. Don't know what those are? Click that link and it will tell you. (I know I am being lazy)

This amount up there is small compared to what he normally will eat. Actually I think the jar was full. He just goes and picks them and eats them. I don't even think we have been able to put any up because he eats them so fast.

Logan how do you eat a muscadine? (I called him on the phone just now and asked him)

craft071

Logan: You bite the biggest littelish circle and then.......

craft062

craft066

...... you squeeze it into your mouth.

Well that explained it to me how about ya'll.

I had some muscadine wine last summer when I was visiting my mom in Arkansas.

My hubby was reading this with me and he said, "Oh yeah, a lot of those can make you sick." Our former neighbor in GA had some growing and Derrick used to eat them. I must say that I have never had one and I'm not sure if I ever will. Little Logan must have a stomach of steel.

I was eating some green concord grapes these past few days. My ex father in law grows them and sent some over to me. They look just like those muscadine's. I DID get a belly ache today, I ate way to many. I wonder if they are the same thing? hmmmm...

Kimmie

Ohhhh, those things are SO good. Somebody brought a huge bag of them and left them in our office. We ate them all day long.

I've never heard of them, but I'm feeling a bit woosy! Hey at least it's better for him than candy, right?!

I have never in my life eaten one. I think Logan eats my share of them. ;) Reading wikipedia, they seem quite healthy. Are they sour? Do you discard the outer circle? I'm not sure why I'm so curious about this!

Never had any of these. Don't think you've helped the argument for trying them, though. Ha!

Blessings!

I love his description for eating muscadines. If you've ever eaten them, it makes perfect sense, but I'd for sure have a tummy ache!

How precious!

I also love to make wreaths from the vines. I love the ones that are all twisted and free formed....like me. LOL.

I remember those! And I don't eat them. Please give Lil Logan my share.

I am thinking that he is very regular though. He would HAVE to be.

And your photography in this post was FABULOUS! What a great eye! Maybe you should be doing some part time photography work or free lance or something. Because this was REALLY good.

That's how I feel about gnocchi. I could eat and eat and eat gnocchi. Not sure I've ever had a muscadine. Now I'm curious...

I'll buy some next time I see them, though. Because I'll try anything once. ;)

It's funny that you post this. We were at the fair last weekend and browsing through the food area and Caroline got so excited when she saw the muscadine's. Well there you go, a 4 year old from Alabama can always spot some muscadine's.

On another note, thank you soooo much for your sweet comment. It's always a great feeling when I open my mailbox and get some uplifting words from those out there in blogland. The great thing is that I could actually meet up with you in Huntsville and have a girl's day out.

Your kind words mean more than you know.

I have never heard of muscadines! I think I widen my knowledge of fruits.

I always enjoy your Fro Me posts. They make me laugh, and wonder what things we'll be making fun of from this design era.

Your dollar store birdies are looking cute. And I'm among the ones who don't have access to an OTP, but by the looks of it, it looks like a fun place to shop.

Oh, lots of comments from me. Can you tell that I'm finally catching up on my blog reading?

Have a delightful weekend!

Love these.
My grandmother had a vine on her farm & all the grandkids would go under & just pick & eat to our hearts content.

Ah, good memories.

Wow. I had never heard of those before. They kind of look like olives. or small apples. They don't look like they would taste good, but the pictures tell a different story.

crack me up. Let me tell you that I had only hear of muscadines about 5 years ago.

Growing up we had a muscadine vine in our back yard - except we called them scupanons (not sure if thats spelled right?)

Anyway, I love those things and wish I knew where to get some. Maybe it's only an alabama thing?
