Freeze Frame!

WARNING!! LOTS OF PICTURES!!

This Saturday we had a Birthday dinner for my Daddy, the teller of tall tales.

DADDY

My lovely niece, who is older than me by a whole year and two months and eighteen days (but who is counting) got to come in from North Carolina.  I just love it when Amanda comes in.  We used to spend lots of time together when we were younger.

From L to R: Robin, Me, Amanda

So Saturday, I asked Deta to take a picture of me and Amanda together....

VA3

Turned out pretty good.

Unlike this one.....

I was afraid that with us both having offwhite on, and being against the light colored curtains, that it would wash us out and we might just be floating heads in the picture.  So I asked Deta to take our picture with a darker background.  That's when it happened, chaos ensued.  Come on I'll show you why its so fun to be in my family......

We got our professional background out (also known as a throw) and a reflector and BAM instant studio  :) .....

VA7

We had fun with the reflector.....

Here we are trying to relax our cheeks from smiling so much

(actually I think she was saying will they ever stop taking pictures!!)

JCV

Here is a picture of Jess and Courtney that I jumped into.  :)

WES

And then my nephew Wes saying please hurry up my arms are tired.

When we were finished he did this....

ME

ME2

Brrrr its cold.....

After all those pictures, Deta and I went to her studio and I was a guinea pig for some ideas she wanted to try out.  Here are those shots.....

Man its amazing what a talented sister, a leaf blower and photoshop can do.

I wish my skin looked like that all the time!

(You would never guess that in those photos, I am sitting on a chair holding a leaf blower up toward my head.)

Thanks to your title, I now have that song in my head.

I love the pictures. One with the leaf blower would be funny, though :-).

I too am a fan of pictures. It's hard to tell how many I might have!
I would love to go play in a studio like that. I think they turned out great! All the ones of your family are so cute. Good to see people laughing and being silly! How does Courtney get her mouth to do what she's doing in the first pic of her? (fun with the reflector pic)
I will think of some questions and interview you in the near future. :)

I also need a good family photo- AFTER I lose the big butt (this is totally putting off my life- this big butt thing!) BTW- I saw you joined the scale down Alabama- I am going to tell Lorie to tape a rope to you so we can find you!

I think the little white dress that Robin has on is one I made for Lisa for someone's wedding.

Great pics and seems like you really have a fun time with your family...I don't have a big family. My parents are only child so no uncles or aunts so it is sad not to have that but love to see others...I do have brothers so I have a few nephews which is great. Thanks Valarie for sharing your family!

Love your last pics also and lol at the leaf blower...would have thought a fan but not the leaf blower...

You are so funny! I love the photos...all of them. Esp. the leaf blower ones....

You look MAAAAHvelous, Dahling!

Isn't it funny what has to happen "behind the scenes" in order to get that model-look picture?

I had some "glamour shots" done once. They involved a background draping and clothespins to hold my hair up in some artsy-fashion.

You couldn't even tell in the finished product--and boy, did I look good!
