Note: I like the title, but this post has nothing to do with the Beastie Boy's. If you are here looking for them you may want to leave now. Thank You, You may proceed now.
Ok well I am not THAT crafty, but I did do a craft that Kristen over at We are THAT Family did. I didn't even realize we were doing the same thing. That's how in tune me and Kristen are. We are tight, thick skinny as thieves, ya know great minds think a like. Hi Kristen (I'm Waving) its me Valarie over here in Alabama. Hi!!!!
Ok so let me get on with my craftiness. This ole blog thing has brought out my crafty side. My need to be creative. It has been buried somewhere deep down in my toes and now its waiting to get out. I am just oozing with crafty. (Bwahahahah!!, No not really) Seriously I am trying though.
So I got this idea from somewhere in the blogosphere to make marble magnets things. Turns out Kristen was doing the same. Again great minds. Here tutorial is here. If you leave and go read hers that's fine, just remember to come back and look at mine also. I know she is super cool and all but humor me please.
First you are gonna need some of these:
Then you will need to get you some of this:
You will then take the scrapbook paper and cut it into little bitty circles that fit to the back of the marble. I started out drawing off the circle, but found out really quickly that I could cut it by eyeballing the sucker better than drawing it off. After you have cut the circles you will then glue them on with Elmer's glue onto the marble. My lovely assistant Syd will show you how.......
Cut
Glue
Syd loving the blue finger nail polish, oh wait and the pink. :)
Once I attach the paper I like to sort of move it around in a circle on the marble to get a good coat of glue on it.
So after you glue the piece of scrap paper onto the marble it will look a little foggy, once it dries, it will dry clear.
Foggy:
Clear:
After all the drying takes place (overnight would be good) then you can add the magnets.
You could use a smaller magnet, but this is what I picked up and it worked out ok. You cant really see them when they are turned up right. Now I used Superglue to attach the magnets. You could probably use something else, I just chose Superglue.
By the Way On Sunday be sure to go over to Kristen's blog and read why you need to be careful with this stuff.
So there you have it simple, easy, keeps the kids busy magnets. Now you can also collect Altoid tins and decorate those and put six magnets in there and give them a cute little presents. These would make super cute teacher gifts.
Tune in next time on "She's Crafty" to see what I did with these nifty magnets. Also coming up on "She's Crafty" treasure jar's! :)

Oh those are adorable! I love how the glass magnifies the paper details. Am adding to my list of projects :)
Oh those are too cute! We need new magnets so I will have to try these out!
How cool and easy enough for even me to do. Thanks for sharing and showing it step by step. Cute photos.
OK. You need your own show. Craftiness with Valarie or something like that.
And I want to be on it. I'll do my egg heads at Easter.
K?
Jen
Way to go, girl! Good job. Aren't they fun?
Can't wait to read about your treasure jars!
that is something that I think I can do.well maybe.that's my story and I'm sticking to it. hugs and blessings.
Really cute- Thanks for the idea!
This is such a cute idea!
it's so easy...? something gotta be wrong!
Cute!
Cool! Can I say that?
My next craft project! I think I'll do alphabets and make words! Too cute!
These are cute. My SS refrigerator doesn't hold magnets. They slide. I bought a bulletin board for photos and need some push pins. I could add these to the head of a flat tack.
I love love these!! Several months ago a blogger friend of mine made some as well and posted about it on her blog. She also has an Etsy shop (not selling these) and I bought a couple of shirts for the girls and as a gift she sent me some, I have loved them ever since.
All of y'all making them has made me wanna make them too!!!! : )
I love the X's and O's!!
cute as can be. Hey you're the only person with proof that I went to the blog party picture wise. :)
Those are great!!! Man, even a totally UN-crafty person like me could handle those!! My girls would love making them, too. And since they're the reason I'm always losing fridge magnets...
These are great! You're determined to make us put our crafty aprons on. :-)
Another cute craft! When did you get so crafy?! I like your model, she's cute. lol
I really love this one, I think I can even handle this. I will share with my teacher friends. We are always using magnets.
oh my word, is this a project i can actually do??
once i no longer have toddlers or babies that stick things in their mouth, i will try this for sure!
thanks val!
