This turtle will sit this way for hours on end.....
He does this everyday. Climb on the shell, extend neck, and stare at the plastic tree.....
Sometimes he sleeps like this.....
I don't think the other turtle understands it either. He actually looks a little irritated by the whole situation.
I have got to get them a bigger home. I think the turtle is going crazy.

Maybe he is lifting his head to heaven praying for that bigger home?? You never know!
Have you ever been to Dog Days Flea Market in Ardmore? Okay..if you ever do, drive past it and there is a mexican restaurant that has huge, life-sized plastic palm trees with plastic coconuts hanging from it...Sorry, that was kind of random, but the turtle's tree reminded me of them! Next time I go, I'll have to take a picture! The turtle would love them!
ROFL Those are cute little turtles. The expressions on their faces are hilarious.
Maybe that one turtle is meditating...or concentrating really hard on visualing FLYING out of the turtle bowl. hehe
aww.. poor guy is trying to sun himself and relax under the palms..
In order for me to own a turtle, I would have to go crazy.
My kids are hoping it's a short trip.
That looks so uncomfortable, I guess he likes the position though!
How cute! I love turtles. One of Madi's words is turtle.
Maybe he's trying imagine and remember what it felt like to have the sun shining down on him... back in the days when he was under a REAL palm tree! Cute!
Poor turtle. Not the life he expected I guess.
I agree with Debbie. He is praying. You have a very devout turtle.

I spent a couple of days recently stuck in the house with the kids. I looked a lot like the turtle on the rock staring out the window wishing for freedom! They're awfully cute!
He is kind of cute!?!?!
hehe That is kinda cute!
Funny!! We have not had pet turtles yet but in time I think I may see this too.
We had a turtle like that from about 5 years his/her name (not sure its sex was) Myrtle it makes me want another one!
If you go to get him a new home -- you should check out Sheri's blog, Me and My Tadpole. Her frogs live like royalty. It's awesome.
Blessings!
Lacy
P.S. I love the turtle's expression.
