I have been trying and trying to find objects that I can redo. That I can take from not so great to fabulous. Its been hard. :(
You see I have this problem that holds me back. Most of the places to find the items to redo are at thrift stores. Thrift Stores give me the heeby geebies. I know Valarie get over it. It just this thing I have. I don't like the smell, and I feel like I need to take a bath when I leave there. It mainly has to do with clothes. I don't know who has been wearing them, and it disturbs me highly that they sell underwear. That is just wrong.
I have been going to the thrift stores at least once a week trying to break my heebies. Now I have not bought any clothes, just looking for something to redo. Here are some of the things I have found. (Minus the birds)
This mirror....
Got painted black...
These planters got painted black...
This thing (not sure exactly what it is) got painted black (noticing a theme)
(goofy girl did not get painted)
Shoot I forgot to take a picture of it painted. Just think about it being black.
Not sure where everything is going to go, but I will try to show you pictures when I get them set out. Next time I will show you something I painted with ivory paint. Ooooo, I know something different than black. :)

Oh I know what you mean...but the thrift shop I go to does not let people put but very limited clothes in the booth...so ours does not have that smell you are talking about.
Love those items you got. I got a few things and am going to get it going this weekend for sure. Can't wait to see what you do with your goddies.
That's awesome. All those items look so victorian and expensive. I've been known to paint all kinds of things gold!
Hey, do you care if I use your dog with the bow pic in my post?
I think everything looks great good finds!
Yeah, I've thought about going into our local one but have not gotten the nerve... I like what you found though... I like to re- do things. When I was little my parents bought a farm, that originally had belonged to my great great grandfather. Anyway the old house had some neat finds, I have never forgotten that neat stuff. It makes me want to go through old abandon houses!
As we "speak" I have a post waiting to be finished about my trip to the thrift store on Friday. (had to go for my kids dressing up during Homecoming Spirit week).
Very cute! Black spray paint it pretty magical stuff!
I like the black they will make a great accent in any room. Glad you did not paint the girl.
Um they sell underwear! OM-gosh that is just nasty.
Just went and have a story to tell about it!! I gotcha on the smell but sometimes the things you find are just SO worth it! My inlaws never understood my Thrift Store fixation. The eeby jeeby pretty easy too!
The black looked awesome by the way!
Underwear? Are you kidding? I really need to get out more. I love going to yard sales, it is true - one persons junk is another's treasure.
who knew you could be so "thirfty!" I know I know you didn't! Nice finds!
turns out even hearing about your craftiness feeds my crafty addiction. How fun! I love seeing your stuff. Thrift stores are awesome aren't they? Lately though the prices are shooting UP! Sometimes they are more than the item would be in a store new. other than that it's fun. Loved your "new" stuff *S*
You know, I've always wondered about underwear at thrift stores...does anyone actually buy it??
You are so creative! Isn't it amazing what a coat of paint can do??
Blessings!
Lacy
You're so funny. Now that you've painted everything black, what are you going to do with them?!
I see your mimicing Picasso and going through a BLACK period.
Now see? Those will be beautiful, and you've painted over all the thrift store smell!
I never have vision like that, I need help!!!! :)
