Young Love

The year is 1989, and a young Logan and Valarie are going to his Homecoming Dance.  They have been dating since July and its now around October of that year.  Valarie had went shopping for the perfect outfit, and had made sure that Logan's outfit matched hers.   If only someone had told her that the backdrop was the same color as the well thought out garments she had chosen.

I mean seriously if it had not been for the little splash of color on my sweater and Logan's jeans and the oh so famous cowboy boots, we would look like floating heads.    By the way could his jeans be any tighter at the ankles or be any more acid washed.

Lets go back in time and listen to a little music from back in the day.

Everybody hold your lighters up and go get your honey and turn the music back on and dance close to each other and think back to when big hair and mullets ruled.  Ahhhhhhh......those were the days.

Hey Logan just a hint if they ever come within a 200 mile radius of us, tickets to see them would make an awesome present for someone.  hint hint.....

For more Fro me to you entertainment go on over to We are THAT Family.  That is if you can stop looking at Jon Bon Jovi long enough.  :)

Look at the two of you! You look like babies---yet I'm sure you didn't feel that way. That's a great picture and a great story. And a nice little glimpse back in time.

I'm loving the music!!!! "These five words I swear to you..." Awesome.

I love the picture AND the acid wash jeans. Those shoes are coming back around, BTW. So are side pony tales and the collar flip thing. Who would have guessed??

Blessings!

O. M. G. Those jeans make me speechless. I forgot that guys wore jeans tight at their ankles at that time, too. lol

This is living proof that 80's fashion is so bad - I cannot imagine why people are trying to bring it back. (sigh)

Great Sincerely 'Fro post!

LOVE the tight legged acid washed jeans. Love the whole thing. Even what you know some student council members thought was a Totally cool backdrop.

Do you look at pics and think "So YOUNG!"

Yeah, me too.

I am loving the picture! Total '80s!

Would you hate me if I told you that my BFF (Bubba's Sis) & I saw Bon Jovi? We had a road trip to Dallas back in April. Highlight of 2008 so far!

This must be flashback week. School starting and our 14th wedding anniversary. Wow how time flies and we don't even realize that we're 20 years older. I surely don't feel 20 years older. The mullet and boots for Logan, it's no wonder you went to the homecoming dance with him. Hot Stuff!

Seriously hilarious photo. I love the 'floating head' idea. Did you guys plan to wear white to match?

This is too precious: the hairstyles, the jeans, the tapered pant leg and let's not leave out the white hose.

Those were some rockin' acid wash jeans. And the hose with the pants - I liked it because you were pretty sure NOT to get a wedgie from those insanely high waists. Good times, my friend!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I'm glad you did so that I could come visit you! Your blog is so cute!!!

I graduated from high school in 1989 so it was so funny to go down memory lane. Gotta love the jeans, mall hair, and every girl was always on the hunt for the "perfect" sweater.

I also read your post about Mamma Mia... loved the movie! My husband and I saw it the other night. I can't seem to get "Dancing Queen" out of my head. Didn't it look like they were having so much fun in that scene?!

It was nice to meet you and I'll be back to visit!
