ITS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

I have been wanting to do this for a while, and this is the year.  Tomorrow I will be going to the bargain hunters paradise.  I will be going to 654 mile of yard sales!  Now I can tell you I will not be going the whole 654 miles that is just crazy.  I will however be going several miles worth of the bountifulness that is yard sales as far as the eye can see.

You can read about it here....

So until I get back to show you all the pictures and goodies I get, go over to my friend MeMe Lories blog.  She has a wonderful story that will warm your heart and challenge you also.

Wish me luck on finding some treasures!!!!

HAY YOU!

So last Saturday, I was doing laundry and stuff, when I realized only  Little Logan and myself were in the house.  Where did the rest of my family go?  Well Jessie actually was in the house, but she was hidden in the dark cave that is her room.  She was still asleep, at about 11:00 in the morning.  Its a hard life being an 18 year old.

I asked Logan, "Where is Syd?" He tells me she is outside with Daddy bringing the hay in.  I say to myself, "Self, this will probably be a good blog post.  Take yourself outside and take pictures."  So I get my camera and make Little Logan put down his video games, and go outside to take pictures.  Its a beautiful day outside.  Beautiful blue skies, wonderful 100 degrees weather, 110 degree heat index.  What more could you want?

So Little Logan and I get the four-wheeler and head on out to get some pictures.

Big Logan was unloading the hay off the trailer when we got out there.

pcbhayholly007

He was keeping hydrated, because it was a scorcher out there.

So if he is unloading the hay, who was driving the trailer?

pcbhayholly001

pcbhayholly024

Yep that is my little girl driving her daddy's truck with a trailer attached.  He is a brave, brave man.

Big Logan has this really bad and nasty habit.  He "dips" tobacco.  BLECH :(

Now I am only telling you this, so you will understand what happened next.

This was the last dip in the can.  So someone asked for the can, and is wasn't this cutie.

pcbhayholly016

It was this one!

pcbhayholly032

Sorry Syd there is none in the can.  What?  You think you can get some out of there?  Well go ahead and get you some little missy!  Just remember  a little between the check and gum, watch out tummy here it comes.

Fro Me to you - Home Ec

frolink1

Because I love you all, and because I have been a little lacking in my recent Fro Me to You's, I pulled something deep from the depths of the albums.

I give you 9th grade Home Economic.

Now why we had a grand piano in our home economics class is beyond me.  It was actually set up in a room right beside where all the mass ovens and sewing machines were.  I think it might have been set up to look like a "living room".  Maybe to show us what one should look like.  Well I don't know about y'all but I do not have a baby grand in my living room, or setting room, or music room, or any room for that matter.  I am just not cultured like that.  It also could be the fact that I have children and I would just like to go ahead and avoid the headache of keeping them from banging on the piano all day.

I came away from economics with little knowledge.  I don't think I have really used a sewing machine since then.  I know, I know I should know how to sew.  Well I don't, but I want to learn, so my Mama is gonna teach me.  I do know how to cook, I just don't really get to do that a lot.

So anyway go ahead make fun of my big hair and glasses and anything else.  I am ready for it, I am over my adolescent insecurities.  (I think)

For more adolescent flashbacks go visit Kristin over at We are THAT Family.  You just might want to join us.  (Rhea, I am talking to you)

SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

Ok, sorry, I sounded like Gomer Pyle there for a minute.  :)

Last Monday when I got back from the beach I had an e.mail.  Well ok I had like 400 e.mails.  Most of them spam and undeliverable's. (I think I am sending spam :( if you have gotten one from me I am sorry, I am working on it)

Where was I?  Oh yeah e.mail.  I got this e.mail from a sweet girl asking if I would come to her Mom's surprise birthday party.  Being one who doesn't want to miss a party, I said sure!!!

Now this was not just an ordinary party for me, nor was it just any Mom.  This was one of my blog friends, that I had been wanting to meet!  I had been invited to the surprise party for my friend Southern Seven.  I was so excited!!

I sort of felt like I was going on a blind date.  I knew who she was, I read her blog, I commented her, but I had never actually met her.  She is such a savvy shopper, I think she could find a good deal with her eyes closed!  She is also one mean yard sale shopper.  I have told her before, but she is going to have to take me to these yard sales she finds.  I think its a gift she has, because I never can find that good of stuff.  She's also pretty crafty.  She made an awesome headboard for her daughter out of a coffee table.  It is the neatest thing.  I am now on the look out for a coffee table to convert.  :)

Before I left I told Logan, "If I don't come back, you know they were serial killers or something" :)  I was just kidding. ;)

When I got there, I felt right at home!  She has a such a wonderful family and wonderful friends!  I was very honored to be there. :)

Bless her heart, I know she had to be tired.  She had just gotten back from a anniversary cruise to Mexico.  After standing for about two hours in the customs line (aren't you glad you did not by that pottery you wanted!) and traveling all day, she was a super host!  I hope you got some rest Sunday.

So here is a picture of myself and cutie poo Southern Seven

I am so glad I got to meet you and I know we will get together again.  I hope you have a wonderful day on the 11th!

TWENTY TRUTHS

Well I have two post's that I am working on , but seeing as I left my cable to the camera at home again, they will have to wait until tonight.  So I bring you "Twenty Truths to Remember".  I have this on my desk and several are highlighted, because they seem to fit all the time.

TWENTY TRUTHS TO REMEMBER

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.

2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.

3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.

4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be
still so He can untangle the knot.

6. Do the math. Count your blessings.

7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.

9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.

10. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.

11. The most important things in your home are the people.

12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy
your precious moments.

17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just
hearsay.

18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be
sure to flush when you are done.

19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The
goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn
from the turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.

20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your
character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what
others think you are.

After the week I had last week, I read these all again today.  There are new ones that are sticking out to me today.  Number 5, 11, 16, an 19.

My prayer today is that something in this will help you today, just like it has helped me.
