OH I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!

I actually took an idea I got from the Nester's blog and mistreated something!!!!

So now I can officially say I am a part of her club!!!

I am just so beside myself, I don't know what to do. I feel like I can take on anything now. I can just feel my creative juices flowing. I have a couple of ideas that I am gonna try, but those will be posted later. (if they ever happen)

We have a canopy out by our pool, that used to have a top and curtains on the side. Then a big wind came along and ripped it all to shreds. So we have had a skeleton of a canopy sitting out back.

So here is what I did:

First I went and bought these x 4

Then I hung these up here

Then I hung the canvas's up onto those drapery hook things. I don't know exactly what they are called, but that's what they look like up there.

Syd got in on the project and helped me to hang my new curtains.

Even though she is a little taller than me she still had to stand on something

So I have not quite figured out what to do with the top part of this thing, but at least we have some curtains to block out some of the sun.

So any ideas on what to do with the top of this thing???? Nester, I know your computer is on the fritz, but I need your help here. Anyone, anyone at all??

Fro Me to You - Luuuucccyyyyyyy!!!!

Can I just tell y'all that I am slacking just a bit. Normally I would have already had this up, but I am slacking. I am a big ole slacker!!!! Ok I am better now.

Also just so you know, the previous post that was made by my wonderful daughter, really was not hijacked, I let her on to say hi to y'all. Please don't pay attention to her grammar and spelling. I promise she really does make good grades. By the looks of the post she does put up you would not be able to tell that she normally reads about 1 to 2 books a week.

Back to my Fro me to you. My friend Melinda is new to blogging, as I have mentioned before. The name of her blog is The World of Lucy. You see we have nicknames at church. She is Lucy, I am Ethel.

We are a bit competitive when it comes to our annual Trunk or Treat that we have at Church each Halloween. It all started when we did our 1950's Soda Shop theme the first year. Then is moved to The Big Top the second year.

Then we did Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory the Third year. Normally we place first, and we sorta enjoy the fact that people are trying to come up with something bigger and better to try to beat us. I mean this is for the children after all. You need to be creative and have fun. No one wants to just walk up to your car and get some candy, whats the fun in that.

So this last Halloween, we had it goin on. We were Lucy and Ethel "The Chocolate Factory Episode"!

We even had a working conveyor belt! It was really cool! We had people come by just to see how that worked. We would put the candy on it and start it up and the candy would go flying. It was great!

We couldn't have had our working conveyor had it not been for our wonderful friend Jeff. You give him an idea and he can make it happen.

Have y'all noticed anything that seems to always be around this conveyor belt?

He happens to be in the corners of all the pictures.

I mean why go to all the other booths to get candy when you have a conveyor belt full of it.

Now just so you all can feel old with us. Hardly any of the kids knew who we were. The adults did, but not the kids. We realized this when one little girl came up to us and said what are you supposed to be, evil lunch room ladies? No little girl, we are not evil lunch room ladies.

Now their are two little girls who can not be left out of this. I think they would dress up for the rest of their lives on Halloween if they could. So let me introduce you to our neighbors in the next booth.

Cranky Granny 1 and Cranky Granny 2! They were sitting on their "front porch" yelling at the kids as they went by.

Ya know telling them they better stay out of their flowers and stuff like that.

They are both so their mothers daughters. We are so proud!

Lawsey Mercy you could sit a coke can on those things!!!

CLASS IS NOW IN SESSION - LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!

Last night, I got together with some of my wonderful friends. They all blog now thanks to yours truly. So seeing as I got them into this mess, they wanted me to help them with some questions and issues they had. So let me introduce you to my students.

Lorie a/k/a MeMe Lorie

She has been blogging longer than any of the others, so I only had to help her a little. We mainly worked on using Windows Live Writer.

April a/k/a Strive Fitness

Sorry about the dark photo, did not have time to edit. April has technically had a blog longer than Lorie, but she did not do anything for a while, so Lorie wins out on blogging the longest out of the bunch. She got there late, because she was teaching a fitness class.

Melinda a/k/a The World of Lucy

Melinda has been at this for all of about two weeks. She's getting the hang of it and pretty soon, she will be blogging all over the place. It was also her birthday on the 23rd and we did not get to do anything so we celebrated her birthday also. She got some cute cute presents, like that awesome necklace and earrings she has on. Someone with really good taste and a good sense of fashion must have gotten her that. :) She is one of my bestest friends, I am her Ethel.

Here are some of her cards and goodies. Yes those are pork skins. An almost empty bag of pork skins. Don't Ask.

I tell you what, these were the cutest little things. I don't know exactly what you do with them, besides laugh at them, but they are cute.

She is really new at this like just a couple of hours old. I know she is really gonna like this stuff also. I like to bug her though on all the computer questions she has for me though, because she is a computer teacher at the elementary school. I will cut her some slack though, because I guess they don't teach blogging to elementary school kids. Not yet anyway.

Judy a/k/a Ju Ju a/k/a Clown MeMe

She was a really good student. She was concentrating very hard on the post she was writing, making sure that it was just right.

We ate, and blogged, and ate, and blogged

After all that eating and blogging, April showed us some exercises that would relieve the tension in our necks and back and burn off some of the mexican food and birthday cake we just ate.

Lorie is so excited about these new exercises.

Look at Kerry, she said she can not wait to try these when she gets home.

April was sweating so much from showing us this workout, that Ju Ju had to fan her down!

I am telling you we got a lot accomplished. We had blogging lessons, a birthday party, and exercise class all in one. We sure do know how to multi-task.

LECTURES

 

That is what I feel like I am going to get when I go to the dentist. 

Today was that day.  Normally at the end of each visit its the same thing.  You need to floss more!!  I know, I know I need to floss more, but don't lecture me.  I normally floss regularly for a good month or so after I leave the dentist.  Then I slack off a bit.  Then when I get my notice its time for your next appointment, I pick it up again.  Sorry to all you regular flossers out there, but I am just telling you like it is.  I brush my teeth sometimes three times a day, I just forget to floss.

Anyway the lecture is usually you need to floss, your gums would not bleed during cleanings if you would floss more, yada yada yada. Do you want to know why my gums might bleed during cleanings. Do ya Do ya???  This is way.......

They are poking me and scraping this instrument of torture, this instrument of the devil across the flesh in my mouth.  Stabbing people stabbing!!!  What happens when you get stabbed??? YOU BLEED!!!!

By the way today, I bled, and I got no lecture on flossing.  They did however measure my gums for gum disease. I personally think its a new scare tactic for flossing since they have never done this before.  I am pleased to report, I did not have gum disease, or any cavities.  I will probably floss for the next month or so and then fall back into my old cycle.  Its just the way I am.
