UBP & LBD

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

So I haven’t seen this yet out in the blog world, but I am gonna try. If I am breaking the blog code someone tell me before they (even though I don’t know who they are) come and get me.

So let me start by introducing my self. My name is Valarie and I am a Christian working Wife and Mother. I'm glad y'all have stopped on by. Please excuse the blog its fairly new and I have not been able to decorate. I have my designer looking into stuff, but for now this is it. So what do you think? Anyway I am glad you came to the party here at my blog. The Ultimate Blog Party (being further known as UBP) to be exact sponsored by 5minutesformom. Normally I am doing the Fight the Frump with Fussy on Friday’s. So since the start of the UBP is today, I decided to do both. So lets party and Fight the Frump!!!

So what should be wear to the party?

Well a Little Black Dress (being further known as LBD) is perfect for most any occasion.

You can dress it up to go to a party or you can dress it down and just wear it work. If it’s cool outside pair it with a nice cardigan. The LBD can be worn with flats for a more casual look, or with heels for a more formal look. One thing is for sure it is one of the most essential parts of your wardrobe.

And as we all know black can help you fight a number of flaws if worn correctly. There are so many shapes and sizes of black dresses out there that you will be able to find the perfect one for yourself.

The price ranges can vary from not that much too way to much. For example the following dresses while similar in shape and color, but vary quite differently in price.

But just look how similar they are!

Now if you go visit my friend "Clarence" you just might find an even better deal. I found my current LBD for $11.99 when I went for a visit.

One thing is for sure if you have your LBD hanging in your closest you will always have a "go to outfit" for those days and occasions when you just don’t know what to wear. So put some pearls on with that baby and you are ready to go to the party.

that's awesome, i got mine in january and it was HOT! Plus, it was a great deal, I got it for 75% off! And its something i can wear over and over again. It has a belted ribbon 'up high' that draws attention away from the waist in case that's needed, and duh, just take the ribbon out of the loops, get a new one, and voila! new dress! cool huh?

I have THREE! And nowhere to wear them.

I think I need to make a date with the hubby!!

I LOVE the comment on the right hand side of your blog ;-)

"As for me and my blog, we will serve the Lord"

GREAT!

I don't have a little black dress since I'm not little. I don't have a black dress but if I did it would have to be an extra large black dress :-)

Thanks for visiting my blog!!

My LBD has been sitting in my closet since July. Now I think I will bring it out, pair it was a cardigan and wear it to work.

Cute post I like the frump thing. I think as housewives an d moms we could all use the encouragement to not be frumpy..especially when you have been puked on 5 times before breakfast!

Hi from N Ireland, and lovely to "meet" you. I love all those LBD - now I just need somewhere to wear them, other than to pick up the kids!

Enjoy the party :)

Hello Valarie! I could definitely use a little black dress. I'm constantly trying to find something suitable to wear to one of my husband's social obligation shindigs (he's an accountant).

And I have to say, I think I liked the cheaper dress more than the expensive one, anyway! I've never understood how people can pay so much for clothes. But then again, I hang out in t-shirts and sweats, so what do I know! *grin*

It was great to meet you. Enjoy the party!

Hey Valarie! Congrats on leaping into the Party Life!! Have fun and a Fab weekend.

Oh, and I would have to discuss the merits of a BIG lil black dress (Blbd for me!)....
Be blessed, Jen

Thanks for stopping by my blog and joining my party. (sorry about not telling you which door was the bathroom door -- hope your toes are okay!!)

It's been forever since I've owned an LBD. All my clothes are BIG everything. Sigh. (Good thing I can party in my sweats at my house!!) You've got a nice little blog here -- and seeing the camo suits in the next post makes me feel right at home!
